no doubt about it.
Elsewhere, Thanks for that wake up article. Recently my boss took on another responsibility and his plate was way too full. The stress got to him, he drank a lot of coffee and smoked a lot of cigarettes on the job. He just turned 64, two weeks later he died from a stroke just before Thanksgiving.
We believe that the stresses he put on himself killed him.

to the household of god, israel, and all those who go with... may you have peace!.
when i was first directed to this "city" 9 years ago, it was with a very purposeful message.
if a man loves me, he will obey my commandments and my father will love him, and we will come to him... and make our abode with him.
AGuest. If you were born anywhere else on earth that is not Christian, I believe you would be toting whatever religious birthright you were taught to believe.
You have not convinced me at all. As long as you keep quoting a book that has been proven to be a history of a Jewish nation, a book that has some value within its pages, but, you know that it is not inspired of a God.
However, if you have had a personal experience with Jesus as you say, well, that cannot be disputed.
You have been a comfort for many who believe as you do.
Your own Bible tells you that only Jesus is the way the truth and the life, there is no other, not even you.
I cannot love someone I never knew. I cannot be commanded to love someone under pain of eternal suffering and or death.
In any event you believe what you believe. I am not afraid that I will suffer pain of death for not believing.
There is no need to reply. I wish you no harm.

i don't know if i, or smoeone else, shared this before but i thought it funny and odd enough to share again.
imagine if you will, if we actually presented what we all know to be true about the beliefs of the jw's at the door when we were witnesses.
after all, jesus message was to be simple; simple enough that even the poorest and most uneducated would be able to accept him and convert to christianity, no matter the flavor of kool-aid we were pushing.
Look! I make all things new! I counted at least nine things new in that presentation. None of them have changed this "OLD" system of things.
New and Improved has been the new catch phrase for all sales items for a long time.
A shiny new penny is still just a penny.

this was the stated purpose of awake!
before the generation-change of 1995..... why awake!
awake!
You will never grow old! So, friends, do more. Oops! you have grown old! My my, you look so young! Hang on, it wil soon be here! Do more. Wait on Jehovah, don't be pushing ahead. Stand still except when you are doing more.
If we were to put together all the spoon fed words coming out of the Governing Body over the years it would not make any sense just like the above words I just wrote from some of their double speak.
Remember Jesus' words "Out of your own mouths you have condemned yourselves"

i know you may call me another russel or something, but i am just showing what i've found.
i am very amazed by what seems to be an uprising inside and outside of the jehovah's witness religion against the governing body and watchtower corporation.. it seems that all the scriptures about babylon and the apostasy apply to them today.
but check these two things out.
Because you base all your predictions on a book, one that has confused and trapped millions of people in a faith base system, you are totally lost as long as you insist that this book holds the answer to mankinds problems.
Many before you have repeated the same time is near calculations, they have come and gone. The years will just keep on turning and we will all go the way of all mankind, into the grave. As you age, you will realize you are spinning your wheels and going nowhere.
A wake up call is in your future.

blueblades/mall cop said in a post that he was "lingering" on as a jw for decades hoping to understand things about the "truth" that were still unexplainable.
(my words, paraphrasing).. i did the same thing for probably a decade, either hoping things in the organization might change or i might finally "get it", regarding some teaching or viewpoint that just seemed to make no sense.. did you hang on to the "truth" much longer than you should have?.
I had some other reasons for lingering on. I lived close to the worldheadquarters. Visited there many, many time. Shared food and drink with some of the members of the Governing Body, ate with the brothers in their rooms and at the Bethel table.
Hosted many Circuit Overseers at the Pioneer Schools. Had private conversations with a few of the GB's etc. and so, along with the higher ups, I was assured that it will all wok out in due time.
33 years is a long due time, don't you think?
Blueblades
we were supposed to "love" jehovah god.
we were taught how wonderful a god he is and how fortunate we were to be his people.
of course, you can't see jehovah god.
Mini, I think that tons of people remain in the religion of their culture throughout the world for the same reasons. Seeking an escape from death and wanting to live for an eternity with God. Sooner or later many come to realize this will never happen.

wow!
so much shift happening!
new doggerel books, new dark, the gb becoming the savior of the carnal class, new brake pads on the wtbts 'tardmobile, elders being too hard on children, kingdom halls being haunted by ct rustle...when will it end?
Have you read the book by Eric Hoffer "The True Believer" it was written fifty years ago.?

jw have much to learn yet.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq4dzmdar8i.

Read the book , The True Believer, thoughts on the nature of mass movements, by Eric Hoffer.
It gives concise insight into what drives the mind of the fanatic.
